92-71400 Contains:

Installation of the wooden handle:

1. Locate the set screw on the outer surface of the steel crank. Using the 5/32” Allen wrench, completely turn out the setscrew holding the original crank. While holding the latch with the pliers, rotate the outer steel crank until it disengages from the threaded portion of the latch.
2. Reach down the center of the latch crank with the 3/16” Allen wrench, back out the 3/8” set screw to separate the wooden handle from the crank. Install the new wooden handle to the crank. Pay attention to the orientation in which the original handle was installed. If the wooden handle is installed backwards, it will point in the opposite direction.
3. If the latch was removed from the door, count how many brass spacers were on the original latch. Be sure to use the same quantity when reassembling the latch.
4. For the front door latch: Thread the steel crank onto the latch shaft. Continue to turn until it bottoms out on the surface of the door. Now turn it back until it is approximately 1/8” from the surface of the door (3 turns).
5. For the Catalyst Bypass door:  Turn the cast iron crank until you can see the grooved-out notch in the end of the shaft (a flashlight may be helpful here). Once the two pieces are lined up in this manner, install the new setscrew. Use the Allen wrench to tighten the 5/32” setscrew into the grooved notch in the latch.
