Jotul Long Arm Stove Gloves
Kind of pricey (other brands may cost half as much), but these are pretty durable so far and excellent for hands totally in the hearth (moving flaming logs around) as well as splitting/grabbing wood off the pile activities. The long length of the gloves appears to be a bit more than other less pricey brands of stove or welding gloves, but I'm satisfied so far because they have saved my hands and arms from many burns as well as nasty scrapes and scratches.
