BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Work on a cool stove.
PROCEDURE:
1. To replace the glass, open the doors and lift them straight up and off the stove. Be sure to save the hinge pins and spacers for reassembly (make a note of the number and placement of the spacers for the reassembly). Lay the doors on a flat surface with the glass panels facing up. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws that hold the glass clips in place. Retain the clips and screws for reassembly – new flat gasket sections are provided with this kit. Carefully remove and discard damaged glass. Remove the worn gasket from the door. Clean the surface with a wire brush and wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Pull the paper backing off the 3/16” rope, a little at a time. Press the adhesive side of the gasket down onto the door to seal and cushion the glass. Trim to fit.
2. Place the new glass panel back onto the door and secure with clips and screws – make sure a flat section of gasket is placed between the glass and the clips to cushion the glass.
3. Place the doors back onto the stove (remember to replace the spacers washers).
